SC301 Clinic Director Shin Dong-jin Accelerates Data Analysis of Over 6000 People

Dr. Shin Dong-jin, director of SC301 Clinic, who demonstrated a 75% cell engraftment rate for stem cell breast augmentation through an SCI-level international academic journal last year, announced on the 1st that he has embarked on research to upgrade this. In 2012, Dr. Shin published the first breast transplant using adipose-derived adult stem cells in Korea in an international journal. 

Last month, Director Shin signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with D-PEF (CEO Kang Byung-chul), an AI specialist, regarding "research on advanced regenerative bio-materials and the utilization of AI big data." Under the agreement, D-PEF plans to analyze how dietary habits before and after breast fat grafting surgery using stem cells affect the engraftment rate of stem cell breast surgery and the quality of individual stem cells. Based on epigenetic theory, the company has launched a study utilizing big data to systematically analyze whether practicing a diet beneficial for stem cell growth can improve surgical outcomes by increasing the engraftment rate. 

 

Epigenetics refers to the study of partial changes in DNA and changes in proteins surrounding DNA, rather than changes in the DNA base sequence itself. According to epigenetic theory, even identical twins with the same genes can differ in their probabilities of disease, physique, personality, and lifespan if they grew up in different environments or if they adapted to their surroundings—such as dietary and lifestyle habits—even if they lived together. Director Shin emphasized, "I expect the surgical effectiveness of stem cell breast augmentation to vary depending on the patient's lifestyle and dietary habits," adding, "I believe these factors likely exist in women whose breasts did not develop well from a young age, even though there are no cases of underdeveloped breasts in either parent's family." 

Director Shin stated, “Since starting stem cell breast augmentation in 2007, we have been accumulating relevant data based on the expectation that dietary habits would be closely linked to the differences in the number of stem cells derived from patients' fat cells and the engraftment rate after surgery.” He added, “We will analyze existing data from 6000 patients and data from hundreds more to be collected in the future to develop an algorithm that identifies which dietary and lifestyle habits increase the number of stem cells and improve the engraftment rate.” Based on this, the strategy is to publish a paper in an international academic journal and pursue certification as a new medical technology from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. 
 

Signed big data research agreement with AI company

Previously, Director Shin signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last month with DEEP, an AI specialist company, regarding "research on advanced regenerative bio-materials and the utilization of AI big data." DEEP plans to analyze how dietary habits before and after breast fat grafting surgery using stem cells affect the engraftment rate of stem cells after surgery and the quality of individual stem cells. Director Shin expressed his aspirations, stating, "Ultimately, I aim to develop a unique treatment protocol for women concerned about small breasts and establish the evidence for health insurance coverage." 

In 2010, SC301 Clinic developed a specialized recipe for breast surgery patients containing omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and essential amino acids. Director Shin asserted, “Following the one-month diet developed at SC301 Clinic has a positive effect on the quality of stem cells, often leading to better surgical outcomes,” adding, “We take pride in this as a differentiated competitive advantage unique to our clinic.”  

Stem cell breast augmentation involves extracting fat from the patient's abdomen, thighs, or upper arms, purifying and separating it using a centrifuge to extract only fat-derived stem cells. Subsequently, the fat-derived stem cells and fat cells are mixed in a ratio of 1:9 and immediately injected into the breasts in a uniform, fan-shaped pattern in multiple layers. The fat-derived stem cells aid in the stable engraftment and proliferation of the transplanted fat cells. SC301 Clinic focuses on delivering differentiated breast volume enhancement effects by injecting stem cells into the body using state-of-the-art stem cell extraction infrastructure and the swift and skillful techniques of its medical staff.  
 

Director Shin stated, “Considering the long-term side effects of breast implant surgery, such as foreign body sensation, leakage, rupture, capsular contracture, inflammation, and the induction of rare cancers, stem cell breast augmentation is the answer, offering natural volume and body contouring effects that are inconspicuous.” He added, “Caution must be exercised when selecting a hospital or clinic, as some newer establishments claim to offer stem cell treatments using substandard equipment and immature surgical techniques.”
