'Stem Cell Breast Augmentation' for beautiful brides-to-be this fall

[Reporter Im Hye-jin] As the autumn breeze blows gently, the peak wedding season has returned.

As the hot summer passes and cool weather follows, a flood of wedding invitations is pouring in. This is because, encouraged by the pleasant weather, an increasing number of couples are planning to hold weddings where they can be congratulated by everyone. Since a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, it is only natural to want to be celebrated by many people.

It is often said that the bride is the flower of a wedding. This is because she waits in the bridal suite and greets guests before the ceremony begins. For brides-to-be who want to look more beautiful than anyone else in the world on that day, the most important thing is the wedding dress.

Wedding dresses are classified into A-line, mermaid, empire, princess, and bouffant lines depending on how closely they fit the body. Among these, the A-line, which fits the body and falls at a 45-degree angle from the waistline; the mermaid line, which strongly fits the hips to dramatically flare the dress; and the empire line, which features a cut at the waistline just below the bust to make the legs look longer, are particularly popular.

Brides-to-be spend a long time trying on various dresses before selecting the one that fits them best. However, even though they are different products, they all share one thing in common: they unconditionally reveal the shoulder and bust lines.

That is why brides-to-be embark on diets ahead of their weddings. This is because they want to create the best possible body line, as it is the day they must look their most beautiful in their lives. However, since the bust line cannot be resolved through simple exercise or dieting, brides are left in deep contemplation.

Recently, a media outlet conducted a survey of 500 brides-to-be asking what their most preferred plastic surgery was. The results showed that breast augmentation ranked first, and body contouring took second place.

This demonstrates the significant interest prospective brides have in feminine bust lines. In fact, procedures such as breast massages and breast enlargement acupuncture are gaining popularity among brides-to-be, and sales of products like breast gels and enlargement creams are increasing.

However, as these methods cannot achieve desired results in a short period of time, an increasing number of brides are considering surgery. Unlike in the past, as the perception of investing time and money in one's figure has become more positive, more women are deciding to undergo surgery.

As such, there are trends in breast augmentation, which many women are interested in. Recently, there has been a trend toward pursuing naturalness and safety rather than obsessing over excessive size. Accordingly, a newly popular surgery is 'stem cell breast augmentation.'

'Stem cell breast augmentation' is a surgical method that is a step up from conventional autologous fat grafting. Basic autologous fat grafting gained popularity as a method of injecting one's own excess fat into the necessary areas instead of implanting implants to increase breast size.

In the case of conventional implant surgery, there were issues such as implant rupture or deformation, and the slow recovery period after surgery made it difficult to easily resume daily life. Furthermore, it is true that the resulting scarring and artificial appearance made it difficult for everyone to readily approach the procedure.

However, in the case of the upgraded stem cell breast augmentation, naturalness has been maximized because the patient's own fat and stem cells are used. In addition, since patients can resume their daily lives without difficulty just 2 to 3 days after surgery, many women are now able to decide on the surgery with peace of mind.

Dr. Shin Dong-jin, Director of SC301 Clinic, stated, “Stem cell fat grafting is a method in which stem cells are isolated from a portion of centrifuged fat, mixed with the centrifuged fat, and transplanted to the necessary areas.” He added, “Simple autologous fat grafting has a survival rate of only 20–30%, raising concerns that the volume would disappear rapidly shortly after the procedure, but stem cell breast augmentation is an improvement on this.”

She continued, “The reason stem cell breast augmentation looks more natural than autologous fat grafting is that it uses your own stem cells,” adding, “It swells up to the original shape of your breasts; in other words, you can think of it as being like a balloon.”

Meanwhile, Director Shin Dong-jin is a leading figure who first introduced stem cell-based breast and facial surgery in the field of cosmetic surgery, which had previously relied solely on artificial implants. He has been developing stem cell breast augmentation since 2007 and, as the president of the Korean Society of Stem Cell Plastic Surgery, currently possesses experience in over 2000 stem cell cosmetic surgeries.

In addition, he developed a breast augmentation method that fully utilizes the effects of stem cells, raising the engraftment rate of transplanted fat cells to over 70%, and proved this through two papers. Recently, he received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award in the eco-friendly medical sector at the Asia LOHAS Food & Environment Awards Expo.
