As the weather warms up, the season for prospective brides and grooms to begin their wedding preparations in earnest has arrived. For this once-in-a-lifetime wedding, women dream of everything being perfect, from a magnificent venue and radiant makeup to an impressive dress.

The beautiful moments at a wedding and the wedding photos capturing them last a lifetime. Every bride desperately wants to look her most beautiful, and one of the key points in achieving this is "dress selection." Nowadays, dresses that emphasize cleavage to highlight femininity are popular. Despite this high preference, a significant number of brides are unable to wear dresses they like because their body shape does not meet the requirements.

Wanting to look like an elegant bride, I chose a tube top dress that emphasized the shoulders and neckline, but after fitting, the bust area was too loose, so I ended up having to get it altered or reluctantly choosing a different design.

A significant number of brides want to achieve attractive cleavage through breast augmentation but hesitate due to concerns about scarring or swelling. In the case of implant surgery, post-operative care, such as wearing drainage bags or compression bandages, can be surprisingly long. It is difficult to attend the wedding immediately after the procedure. Furthermore, the appearance, which makes it obvious to anyone that surgery was performed, is also unsettling.

However, if you are not getting married immediately but are aiming to be a 'May bride,' you might want to consider stem cell breast augmentation, which has recently been gaining attention. Since surgery and discharge are possible within a single day, it causes no significant inconvenience for brides-to-be who are preparing for their wedding while working. You can achieve your most beautiful appearance one to two months after surgery, as the fat has just taken root.

Stem cell breast augmentation is a method in which fat is extracted from areas such as the abdomen or thighs, separated into pure fat cells and stem cells, and then transplanted into the breasts. Thanks to the action of growth factors within the stem cells, the engraftment rate is higher compared to simply transplanting fat cells.

Dr. Shin Dong-jin, Director of SC301 Clinic, explained, “If only fat cells are transplanted, they are absorbed and lost to the original breast tissue after a short time.” He added, “To overcome this, stem cells must be extracted from the adipose tissue, mixed with purified fat cells in a specific ratio, and then injected into the breasts.”

In a paper published last August titled "Analysis of Clinical Effects of Breast Augmentation via Fat Graft Using Adult Adipose Stem Cells," he enhanced credibility by raising the engraftment rate of fat cells and stem cells to over 70% through breast augmentation for two consecutive years. In contrast, conventional simple fat grafting is known to have an engraftment rate of only 20–30%.

However, it is also true that there are doubts as to whether the breast augmentation effect is as significant as that of implants. While it varies from person to person, for an average body type, approximately 1000 units of fat can be extracted. The harvested fat is separated into microfat and then injected using a syringe. Typically, the amount of fat transplanted to one breast is about 200 to 250 units, which is similar to the size of commonly used implants.

However, as stem cell breast augmentation gains popularity, "fake breast augmentation" is also rampant. This means that there are quite a few hospitals claiming to perform stem cell procedures but lack the necessary equipment, cell handling techniques, and the doctors' experience. Consequently, the cost of this procedure can vary by up to three times. The stem cell extraction method, related equipment, cost, and sustainability differ depending on whether only a small amount of stem cells are extracted from blood or bone marrow and injected into the breasts, or whether adult stem cells are extracted from fat and administered.

To increase the engraftment rate of fat cells in stem cell breast augmentation, at least 7000 million adipose-derived adult stem cells must be administered. The number of cells extracted from blood or bone marrow is significantly insufficient in comparison. The cost of procedures to extract adipose-derived adult stem cells at clinics varies depending on the equipment used. Generally, procedures using the latest equipment, such as HuriCell and TGI, are recognized for their high stem cell survival rates and density.

Director Shin Dong-jin assessed, “Currently, there are hundreds of hospitals in Korea advertising stem cell breast augmentation, but there are only about 10 medical institutions that are properly equipped with devices to extract stem cells and perform the procedure meticulously.” Receiving treatment at a place lacking procedural capability and equipment makes it easy to be dissatisfied with the results, wastes money, and, above all, results in significant wasted time.

To prevent this, it is advisable to use a 'cell counting' device to directly verify how many stem cells have been injected. Even if you possess a decent cell extractor, without a professional auxiliary system to measure cell counts, it is impossible to gauge whether the engraftment rate is being maintained above the standard level.

Nevertheless, many brides worry about swelling caused by the sudden procedure. This type of swelling is 'localized swelling due to injury,' and with careful management, it is not a major problem. To effectively reduce swelling, you should focus on blood circulation. Drink water frequently and engage in light exercises or walking.

However, avoid exercising vigorously enough to break a sweat, as this can actually hinder the reduction of swelling or lower the survival rate of the grafts. It is also advisable to refrain from salty foods that prevent water loss. If you keep this in mind and put it into practice, you can become the most radiant bride at the wedding.
