Dr. Shin Dong-jin, Director of SC301 Clinic, gave a presentation on the topic of "Cosmetic Surgery using Fat Transplantation with Stem Cell" at the "2014 Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Autumn Symposium," hosted by the Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and held at the Baekbeom Memorial Hall in Seoul on the 9th.

This symposium was held as a venue for experts in various fields of minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, which are closely related to aesthetic surgery, to share the latest procedures and trends. Various procedures that have recently gained popularity, such as face lifting, laser skin care, thread lifting, and nose fillers, were featured.

Director Shin Dong-jin gave a lecture on the 'Stem Cell Fat Graft Breast Augmentation' section. He emphasized that the procedure is safe and effective from the patient's perspective. He introduced it as an 'eco-friendly procedure' that significantly reduces side effects, such as fat necrosis and calcification, compared to simple fat graft breast augmentation.

As the president of the Korean Society of Stem Cell Plastic Surgery, he is a key figure who first introduced breast and facial plastic surgery using adipose-derived stem cells extracted from the patient's own abdomen or thighs to the domestic field, which had previously relied solely on artificial implants.

In this lecture, he explained the history of stem cell fat graft breast augmentation, the development of stem cell surgery equipment, the stem cell breast augmentation process, and the engraftment rate of stem cell breast augmentation proven through years of research and papers.

Autologous fat grafting is safe and does not cause a foreign body sensation because no foreign substances are injected, but the problem of the transplanted fat being absorbed by tissues and the resulting decrease in the remaining volume remained. An upgraded version called 'stem cell breast augmentation' was introduced to solve this problem. However, in most hospitals, the survival rate of the transplanted fat is only 20–30% due to the use of substandard equipment, a lack of know-how, and lax pre- and post-procedure care.

Director Shin introduced the procedure, stating, “Stem cell breast augmentation is a safer and more effective surgical method than conventional ones, provided the practitioner possesses specialized knowledge and skilled techniques.” Director Shin Dong-jin developed a breast augmentation technique that fully utilizes the effects of stem cells, raising the engraftment rate of transplanted fat cells to over 70%, and has proven its efficacy and safety through two research papers. An analysis of the results of stem cell breast augmentation on 200 patients aged 20 to 50 who were available for follow-up observation in 2013 showed that regardless of age, the chest circumference increased by an average of approximately 5 cm; the women who underwent the procedure received an injection of over 90 cc and up to 260 cc of fat and stem cells into each breast.

As the president of the Korean Society of Stem Cell Plastic Surgery, he currently possesses experience in over 2000 stem cell cosmetic surgeries. He is also taking the lead in promoting medical diplomacy with China, facilitating the entry of domestic medical technology into the Chinese market, and attracting foreign patients.
