'A-cup breasts' that don't respond to diet, exercise, or massage... How to improve them?

Ms. Bae (25, female), an office worker, has tried everything to improve her small breasts, which have been a complex for her since her student days. She applies breast-enlarging creams as a basic routine, performs consistent gym and yoga exercises, and eats a high-protein diet for one of her three meals a day. However, there is still no sign that she can fit into an A-cup bra.

Recently, I spent a considerable amount of money on a breast massage package. Enticed by claims that machine and manual treatments could increase breast size, I paid a substantial sum to the aesthetic clinic, but there is still no noticeable effect. When I told the clinic director that I didn't feel any change at all, I only received a cold response asking, "Can't you see that my bust line has been lifted?"

Taking this incident as a turning point, I decided that rather than investing a lifetime in breast care that would never grow, I would rather erase my complex with a single surgery. I dislike the artificial feel characteristic of breast implants, so I am considering fat grafting. While looking for a surgery with long-lasting results, I learned about 'stem cell breast augmentation' and scheduled a consultation.

Recently, the type of plastic surgery preferred by Korean women is achieving a natural beauty without any foreign body sensation. In the case of breast augmentation, the diversification of surgical techniques as well as implant shapes is yielding stable and dramatic results.

Among various surgical methods, the popularity of fat grafting is rising in line with the plastic surgery trend that seeks a natural look. However, a drawback has been pointed out: the low engraftment rate of 20–30% causes the enlarged breasts to suddenly collapse. Recently, fat grafting utilizing stem cells has been gaining a positive response to address this issue. Its popularity is further increasing because it simultaneously satisfies three requirements: sufficient volume enhancement, a natural shape, and a texture that feels like one's own breasts.

Dr. Shin Dong-jin, Director of SC301 Clinic, stated, “Stem cell cosmetic surgery is safer and more effective than conventional surgical methods if performed with specialized knowledge and skilled techniques.”

This hospital utilizes a secret weapon to enhance the engraftment rate after stem cell breast augmentation. As part of pre-operative care, they create a sanctuary within the breast tissue for the extracted fat cells and stem cells. For women in their 20s and 30s with flat breasts, even if fat cells and stem cells are injected, it is difficult for them to survive because the space within the breast is too narrow or the tissue is composed of hard, dense tissue.

It is similar to seeds being unable to take root even after being sown in barren soil. Therefore, using a device that expands the breast with negative pressure before the procedure to enlarge the space within the breast where the cells will settle can increase the engraftment rate after stem cell breast augmentation. It is similar to the popular 'Brava' on the market, but it is easier to expand the breasts because the negative pressure is stronger. Typically, this device is used 3 to 5 times before the procedure, for 30 to 60 minutes each time.

Director Shin Dong-jin explained, “While commercially available Brava is effective for breast augmentation, the effect is temporary because it fails to fill the expanded breasts with anything, causing them to collapse again,” adding, “If stem cell breast augmentation is performed after pre-treatment with a negative pressure generating device, the viability of the stem cells increases, much like sowing seeds in soil that has been softened by plowing a hard field.”

Director Shin is the pioneer of stem cell breast augmentation. He developed a breast augmentation method that fully utilizes the effects of stem cells, raising the engraftment rate of transplanted fat cells to over 70%. Furthermore, based on research data from 2007 to 2010, he proved the efficacy and safety of the procedure through two academic papers. In 2013, he analyzed the results of stem cell breast augmentation on 200 patients aged 20 to 50 who were available for follow-up observation for one year, demonstrating that breast circumference increased by an average of approximately 5 cm regardless of age. The women who underwent the procedure received an injection of at least 90 cc and up to 260 cc of fat and stem cells into each breast.
