How to safely transform into a 'goddess body' after the CSAT?

Ms. Park (20, female), who finished her second attempt at the CSAT after retaking the exam, is relieved because she received a score more satisfactory than expected this year. She is excited about the prospect of getting into the university she wants, but at the same time, she feels heavy-hearted. Because she spent the two years from her senior year of high school until her second attempt sitting at a desk, her stomach has grown more than her chest. Fortunately, she hasn't gained weight in other parts of her body, so people don't notice.

However, I was already worried about my flat chest, and with my belly protruding as well, I look like I have a "baby body" to anyone who sees me. I am looking into breast augmentation to get rid of this complex, but I feel somewhat burdened by the idea of inserting implants. Then, I learned about "stem cell breast augmentation." Above all, I thought it was killing two birds with one stone, as it allows me to manage my body shape by liposuctioning my own excess fat and transplanting it into my breasts.

It is a pipe dream for women whose growth period has ended to expect dramatic breast volume enhancement solely through folk remedies, dieting, exercise, and lifestyle changes. It is easy to end up with sagging breasts while trying to lose belly fat, or to become obese while trying to make breasts fuller. If you cannot give up a voluminous figure, surgery is the answer. As the value placed on body shape increases, quite a few women decide to undergo breast augmentation to address their complexes.

For breast augmentation, implant surgery is the most preferred method as it provides permanent breast enlargement with a single operation. However, with recent doubts raised regarding the safety of implants, there is a growing trend of people turning to breast augmentation using autologous fat. Above all, it is safe because it utilizes one's own fat, and since it involves liposuction of unwanted fat from certain areas, it also contributes to body shape management.

Dr. Shin Dong-jin, director of Apgujeong SC301 Clinic, explained, “Although it varies from person to person, based on an average body type, about 1000 cc of fat can be extracted,” adding, “The amount of fat usually transplanted to one breast is about 200 to 250 cc, which is similar to the size of commonly used implants.”

However, simply injecting fat still presents the problem that the transplanted fat is absorbed by the tissue, resulting in a reduction of the remaining volume. The upgraded version, 'stem cell breast augmentation,' was introduced to solve this issue.

Director Shin Dong-jin stated, “When adipose-derived adult stem cells contained in fat tissue extracted from the patient’s abdomen are injected into fat grafting surgery, the engraftment rate can be increased through the stem cells’ immunosuppressive response, resulting anti-inflammatory effects, differentiation into fat cells, chondrocytes, bone cells, and muscle cells, and the induction of angiogenesis.” He further emphasized, “To achieve proper results from stem cell breast augmentation, approximately 1 million or more stem cells must be administered in a single procedure, a figure that can be verified using a cell counting device.”

Here, a 'secret weapon' is added to further enhance the engraftment rate. He injects 'microcapsules' that boost engraftment rates along with stem cells. Director Shin Dong-jin explained, "The components within the microcapsules act as a booster to increase the engraftment rate by maximizing the diffusion of stem cells as well as the formation and expansion of blood vessels." He added, "The injected capsules are evenly dispersed at the transplant site, maximizing the fat cell growth effect." He further stated, "Microcapsules can improve the problem of requiring two or three surgeries due to insufficient surviving fat volume after breast augmentation."

However, with the rise in popularity of stem cell cosmetic surgery, caution is advised as there are quite a few places performing "fake procedures." While they advertise it as "stem cell breast augmentation," in reality, it is not much different from simple autologous fat grafting.

Director Shin Dong-jin pointed out, “Currently, there are hundreds of hospitals in Korea advertising that they perform stem cell breast augmentation, but there are only about 10 medical institutions that are properly equipped with devices to extract stem cells and perform the procedure meticulously.”

For example, it is all too common for clinics to claim to use a specific stem cell extractor but do not actually use that equipment. If a clinic advertises the use of specific equipment while offering significantly lower treatment prices, you should verify whether the equipment is actually in operation. If proper equipment is not being used, the procedure is not much different from autologous fat grafting, even if it is advertised as stem cell fat grafting, making it easy to end up disappointed. You may end up paying the full price without seeing any significant difference in results, leading to great disappointment.
