She succeeded in her diet, what was the unexpected 'problem'?

Unexpected 'Breast Disappearance' ... As it consists mostly of fibrous and fatty tissue, it decreases along with body fat,
'Stem cell breast augmentation' effects

Ms. Bae (23, female), a female college student, has developed a desire for a perfect figure since successfully losing weight. She lost nearly 20 kg over the course of a year, starting from last winter break. With a height of 168 cm, she currently has a slim figure weighing just over 50 kg. Currently enrolled in a physical education college, she is preparing to find employment with the goal of becoming a golf instructor. She went on a strict diet after hearing from her seniors, “If you want to work in recreational sports, it is better to have good visuals.”

Recently, as a toned body is preferred over a mere skinny one, Ms. Bae also feels the urge to fill in the slightly lacking volume in her breasts. Her breast size has decreased compared to before due to dieting. Previously, a B-cup bra would fill her completely, but now an A-cup is a bit loose.

When you lose a significant amount of weight, the breasts are bound to disappear first. The breasts consist of 75% mammary glands and fibrous tissue, with the remainder being fatty tissue. As weight is lost, the fat in the breasts decreases along with it, inevitably causing the breast size to shrink. Fortunately, Ms. Bae has been consistently consuming protein-rich foods, so her breasts have not sagged unsightly. Her concern is that her size has decreased.

However, I am hesitant to undergo surgery with implants. This is because, after seeing various plastic surgery accidents recently, I felt that it could happen to me. I am also concerned about the unnatural breast shape that looks like a rice bowl has been placed on top. Then, I learned about a groundbreaking surgical method called "stem cell fat graft breast augmentation." Instead of using implants for breast augmentation, adult stem cells extracted from one's own excess fat and pure fat are injected into the necessary areas.

Shin Dong-jin, director of Apgujeong SC301 Clinic, stated, “Stem cell fat grafting involves isolating stem cells from a portion of centrifuged fat, mixing them with the remaining fat, and transplanting the resulting mixture to the necessary areas,” adding, “It offers not only the ability to maintain volume but also therapeutic effects for fine wrinkles and melasma.”

Microcapsules were added to further increase the engraftment rate. The capsules contain polydeoxyribinucletide, a liquid cell growth promoter; sophorolipid, a microbial-derived natural surfactant; seaweed stem cell extract, which promotes fat cell growth; and trehalose, which provides nutrients to stem cells, thereby increasing the survival rate of the injected fat.

Director Shin Dong-jin explained, “The compositions act as a booster to increase the engraftment rate by maximizing the diffusion, angiogenesis, and expansion of stem cells,” adding, “The injected capsules are uniformly dispersed at the transplant site, maximizing the fat cell growth effect.” This addresses the problem of needing two or three revision surgeries after stem cell breast augmentation due to insufficient surviving fat volume or low engraftment rates.

State-of-the-art fat grafting equipment, such as TGI, HuriCell, and MultiStation, used in stem cell fat grafting fundamentally prevents side effects like calcification or unevenness and maximizes the effectiveness of the surgery. Caution is advised as there are currently only a limited number of hospitals in Korea equipped with this equipment.

Above all, the key to success is the amount of stem cells administered, and typically, more than 1 million cells must be injected. A 'cell counter' helps verify this.

Director Shin Dong-jin developed a breast augmentation method that fully utilizes the effects of stem cells, raising the engraftment rate of transplanted fat cells to over 70%, which he verified through two research papers. He recently released the results of an analysis of stem cell breast augmentation outcomes for 200 patients aged 20 to 50 who were available for follow-up observation over the course of 2013. Regardless of age, the average chest circumference increased by approximately 5 cm, and the women who underwent the procedure received injections of over 90 cc and up to 260 cc of fat and stem cells per breast.

SC301 Clinic has been developing stem cell breast augmentation since 2007. It is a leading figure in introducing the first breast and facial surgeries utilizing stem cells in the field of cosmetic surgery, which had previously relied solely on artificial implants. As the President of the Korean Society of Stem Cell Plastic Surgery, it currently possesses experience in over 2000 stem cell cosmetic surgeries.
