Perhaps it is because we suffered so much from the hot summer sun. The gentle autumn breeze blowing in the mornings and evenings is very welcome. As the weather drops below 20 degrees, more women are wearing knitwear these days.

Knitwear is a staple item for women because its soft fabric allows for a feminine and elegant look while providing excellent warmth. However, due to its elasticity and woven nature, it reveals the body's lines. For women with relatively small breasts, this can expose their flaws rather than showcasing their feminine charm.

Typically, when referring to a woman's figure, five specific body parts are being mentioned: the collarbone, waist, hips, legs, and bust. Among these, the bust line is the first to catch the eye. However, due to the characteristics of Korean women, many do not have large busts and seek various methods to resolve their complex about having small breasts.

Some women wear shapewear or massage their breasts with breast creams. Others try exercises designed to increase breast size, but these methods are often not as effective as expected, leaving them disappointed. Most importantly, because these methods do not address the root cause of the problem, they eventually end up considering surgery.

However, there are women who hesitate to undergo surgery due to various side effects and an "unnatural" feeling that the results do not feel like their own. On the other hand, there are also women who decided to have surgery to regain their self-esteem and confidence as women but are disappointed by the unsatisfactory results.

What if your breasts grew in their original shape, rather than expanding due to awkward implants? Dr. Shin Dong-jin, director of SC301 Clinic in Apgujeong, says, “Stem cell breast augmentation is natural because it utilizes the patient’s own stem cells, and it can be likened to a balloon.”

'Stem cell breast augmentation' is an upgraded version of 'fat grafting,' a cosmetic procedure utilizing tissue engineering. As cosmetic surgery trends have shifted toward 'naturalness' and 'safety' over the past few years, autologous fat grafting—which involves injecting one's own excess fat into necessary areas instead of implanting excessive implants—has gained significant popularity.

However, simple autologous fat grafting had the disadvantage of losing volume shortly after the procedure, as the engraftment rate was only 20–30%. Stem cell breast augmentation was developed to address this. Dr. Shin Dong-jin explained, “Stem cell fat grafting involves separating stem cells from a portion of centrifuged fat, mixing them with the fat, and transplanting them to the necessary areas.” He added, “Since stem cell breast augmentation is not a simple procedure, the surgery must be performed at a hospital equipped with sufficient equipment and extensive experience.”

Meanwhile, Director Shin is a key figure who first introduced stem cell-based breast and facial surgery in the field of cosmetic surgery, which had previously relied solely on artificial implants. He has been developing stem cell breast augmentation since 2007 and, as the president of the Korean Society of Stem Cell Plastic Surgery, currently possesses experience in over 2000 stem cell cosmetic surgeries.

In addition, at the '3rd Asia LOHAS Food & Environment Awards Expo' held at the Seoul Trade Exhibition Center (SETEC) on August 7, he received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award in the eco-friendly medical sector in recognition of his contributions to researching and developing eco-friendly medical technology using breast augmentation techniques utilizing adipose-derived adult stem cells.
