What are the 'attractive points' that women care about regardless of age?

We have entered an era where it is increasingly difficult to guess a woman's age. Young women tend to their appearance in preparation for employment, women in their 30s invest in themselves ahead of marriage or as they gain financial stability, and women in their 40s and older groom their looks aspiring to become the "Ruby Tribe." The Ruby Tribe is an acronym formed from the first letters of Refresh, Uncommon, Beautiful, and Young, referring to women in their 40s and 50s who reject the image of the ordinary, traditional middle-aged woman. As a result, age is truly just a number.

Recently, regardless of age, women view body management as a fundamental aspect of appearance care. This is due to a social atmosphere where a lack of figure is considered a negative point, no matter how pretty a face is. Lately, there is a preference for women who are sexy and exude a healthy beauty, rather than those who are unconditionally slender and innocent.

What underpins such a toned physique is none other than the 'breasts.' While breast concerns vary by age, ultimately, they all aspire to have 'firm and voluptuous breasts.' Women in their 20s are prone to having small breasts that become underdeveloped due to excessive dieting. Women who have given birth are likely to feel depressed about the sudden changes in their breasts after breastfeeding. It is easy for the beautiful, voluminous breasts of maidenhood to disappear after childbirth and breastfeeding.

Shin Dong-jin, director of Apgujeong SC301 Clinic, stated, “When breastfeeding is stopped, the enlarged fat and mammary gland tissue in the breasts contract abruptly, reducing the elasticity of the dermis layer and causing breast ptosis, where the breasts sag downwards.” He added, “In addition, the breasts are prone to shrinking and losing elasticity.”

In such situations, many women experience a sharp decline in self-confidence and a sense of psychological withdrawal, leading them to consider plastic surgery as a last resort. However, when it comes time to actually lie on the operating table, they often feel aversion to implants and fear potential side effects, leaving them in a dilemma.

In such cases, breast augmentation using autologous fat and stem cells can be considered. Since the patient's own fat is used, there is less concern about side effects. It is preferred by those who want to achieve a naturally beautiful appearance because it eliminates the foreign body sensation and side effects associated with implant insertion. It can firm sagging breasts and fill out small ones, making it a safe procedure applicable to everyone regardless of age.

Stem cells enhance therapeutic effects through immunosuppressive responses, resulting anti-inflammatory effects, the ability to differentiate into fat, chondrocyte, bone, and muscle cells, the induction of angiogenesis, and rapid recovery. While simple autologous fat grafting produces a natural appearance, its engraftment rate is only 20–30%, raising concerns that the volume may disappear rapidly shortly after the procedure. Stem cell breast augmentation is an improvement on this.

Director Shin Dong-jin stated, “Stem cell fat grafting involves isolating stem cells from a portion of centrifuged fat, mixing them with the remaining fat, and transplanting the resulting mixture to the necessary areas,” adding, “It offers not only the ability to maintain volume but also therapeutic effects for fine wrinkles and melasma.”

He is a pioneer who began researching stem cell cosmetic surgery in 2009. Through repeated research, he raised the engraftment rate of transplanted fat cells to over 70%, which he validated through two research papers. Recently, he released the results of an analysis of stem cell breast augmentation outcomes for 200 patients aged 20 to 50 who were available for follow-up observation in 2013. The findings showed that regardless of age, the average chest circumference increased by approximately 5 cm, and the women who underwent the procedure received an injection of over 90 cc and up to 260 cc of fat and stem cells into each breast.

Middle-aged women can expect the effect of smoothing out age-related sagging skin, as the stem cell cosmetic procedure involves liposuction. Occasionally, some women worry that recovery might be slower and the prognosis worse compared to younger people due to their age. However, Director Shin emphasized, "Middle-aged women actually often show better results than younger women," adding, "The outcomes are significantly better because sagging skin is improved and breasts that have sunken due to factors like breastfeeding are restored."
