You can look ten years younger even if you get one year older.

[Reporter Shin Na-young] Young and elastic skin is something everyone covets. Accordingly, women of all ages can be seen sparing no expense in time or money to maintain beautiful skin, such as by applying expensive cosmetics and receiving massages.

However, this only brings temporary effects compared to the effort, and it is difficult to restore skin that has sagged and wrinkled to its original state. Consequently, various procedures are emerging to create firm skin through treatments appropriate for facial condition and age.

Previously, lifting procedures involved directly pulling the skin and cheeks using threads, but recently, technologies such as lasers, radio frequency, and ultrasound have emerged to support the skin without causing damage. It has also become easier to achieve a youthful appearance by injecting fat into sunken areas to restore volume.

A combination of Ulthera and stem cell facial surgery

Ultherapy is a state-of-the-art ultrasound surgical technique used for non-surgical facelifts that works beneath the skin without incisions to correct sagging and drooping skin. The entire facial procedure is completed simply within an hour, and since there is no anesthesia or pain, patients can return to their daily lives immediately.

Stem cell fat grafting is a cosmetic procedure that involves extracting only the clean, usable fat from areas such as the thighs or abdomen and applying it to areas where volume is desired. Due to its safety and minimal side effects, the number of people preferring stem cell fat grafting is increasing.

Adding a stem cell method to standard Ulthera further enhances skin regeneration rates and prolongs the treatment effects. It is effective for improving sagging cheeks, a slimmer facial contour, nasolabial folds, skin elasticity, and skin tone, and promotes collagen formation to create a moist skin texture.

Stem cell facial reshaping: Adipose-derived adult stem cells are the key.

Stem cell fat grafting is a surgical method that minimizes the foreign body sensation of implants and compensates for the low engraftment rate of autologous fat grafting. It demonstrates significant effectiveness by extracting high-quality adult stem cells and transplanting them along with fat to the necessary areas.

Simply put, adult stem cells are cells that supply new cells to replace those that have died due to external impact or aging. When fat is grafted, the grafted area can be seen sinking over time, but this drawback can be resolved by using adult stem cells from the fat during the procedure.

Shin Dong-jin, President of the Korean Society for Stem Cells (Director of SC301), stated, “To increase the engraftment rate of fat cells in stem cell facial surgery, more than 7,000 million fat-derived adult stem cells must be administered,” and emphasized, “The number of cells extracted from blood or bone marrow is significantly insufficient in comparison, so if adult stem cells are not used, the engraftment rate is bound to drop.”

Stem cell facial reshaping with a high engraftment rate

It has been pointed out that a major limitation of conventional fat grafting surgery is that less than 20% of the injected fat survives, while the rest is absorbed or disappears in the body. Consequently, it was necessary to supplement the deficient portion through revision surgery to maintain the original volume.

However, if stem cells are extracted and transplanted along with fat, the engraftment rate can be increased to up to 70%. There is no concern about revision surgery, and natural results can be achieved without the pressure to inject excessive fat due to the engraftment rate.

Since the effectiveness of stem cell facial reshaping depends on the process of carefully harvesting fat cells without damage, the method of isolating only pure fat, and the appropriate mixing ratio and placement of stem cells and fat, the performing physician must accumulate extensive experience.

For facial surgery, safe equipment is essential.

Director Shin Dong-jin of SC301 currently holds the record for the highest number of procedures in the field of stem cell plastic surgery in Korea. He began clinical research in 2007, started performing procedures in earnest in May 2008, and has personally performed procedures on approximately 3000 or more patients.

SC301's stem cell facial reshaping is performed using state-of-the-art equipment. It shortens the stem cell extraction time to less than one hour and minimizes the surgery time to three hours using a Cha Station capable of stem cell extraction and cell counting.

The stable autologous fat separation device, Multi-Station, is capable of extracting stem cells as well as separating pure autologous fat required for transplantation. Furthermore, it is equipped with a system that safely stores harvested autologous fat and extracted stem cells at ultra-low temperatures for extended periods.

Director Shin Dong-jin of SC301 stated, “Stem cell surgery requires minimal incisions and precise techniques, so it must be performed by an expert equipped with extensive know-how and specialized skills.” He also advised, “If bacterial infection occurs during the surgical process, the recovery period may be prolonged or unexpected results may be produced, so it is advisable to have the surgery performed at a hospital equipped with specialized medical equipment.”
